Name: Lindy Dobbins Born just outside of Asheville and raised in Charlotte, Lindy is a North Carolina native with over ten years of professional experience at the age of twenty-six. Singing before she could talk and writing songs in early childhood, Lindy had her first professional experience in a recording studio at the age of seven, but she did not begin to seriously pursue her interest in performing and songwriting until her early teens. It was not until her college years that she began writing the songs which would first establish her musical style and become frequent requests at the weekly professional performances which served as her primary means of employment while earning a degree. Lindy credits a broad spectrum of artists with having had an influence on her musical style, the most prominent of which include Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Joni Mitchell, Radiohead, The Beatles, Ani DiFranco and The Black Crowes, but having had a broad musical upbringing, Lindy remains very much her own woman in her original stylings as well as in her interpretation of other artist's work. Performing is something which comes very naturally to Lindy, and her comfort and ease with her audience is inviting enough to not only draw a crowd, but keep them in their seats as well as bring them back for repeat appearances. |

![]() | Name: John Christenbury A Charlotte, NC native, John has been involved with music in some way shape or form for most of his life. Starting with the usual grade school music programs he expanded his talents and picked up the guitar around age 10. Music was more of a background interest until toward the end of college for John when he added yet again to his musical skills by picking up the bass guitar, joining his first band and playing around the Charlotte music scene. Fast foward a few years and a few bands and you find him helping fill the rhythm section of The Red Velvet Manx, the backing band behind Lindy. John says his inspirations come from his brothers record collection growing up, but identifies with Brian Marshall of Creed and Alter Bridge as a great example of 'working the song, not over-working it'. Something John strives to bring to the group. |
